Description

A Voigtländer Vito C 35 mm viewfinder camera, standard first model, serial number 5544282, made in Braunschweig, West Germany. This example is the 1956 bicentennial edition, marking the firm's two hundredth anniversary.

The lens is a Voigtländer Lanthar f/2.8 50 mm, with apertures from f/2.8 to f/22, behind a Pronto-LK leaf shutter offering B, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, and 1/250 second. The Vito C series was known for solid build and ease of handling, and was widely taken up by amateur photographers of its day.

The camera has been kept in its original box, emblazoned with the Voigtländer logo and the anniversary dates 1756–1956.
