Lietz (Sokkisha) Dumpy Level, Model 110

A vintage surveying instrument made in the 1960s by Sokkisha Co. of Tokyo, a Japanese firm known for high-quality surveying and construction instruments. This example carries model number 110 and serial number 742100, with a 12-inch telescope of 26 power.

The telescope lenses are in excellent condition, bright and sharp in focus, though the cross hairs require replacement. The 3½-inch tripod mounting threads are in excellent order, so the level seats readily on a tripod.

The instrument is housed in its latch-locking oak box, which still offers secure and protective storage.
