1701 Act of Parliament: Anno Regni Gulielmi III

An original Crown-printed Act of Parliament from the reign of William III, titled Anno Regni Gulielmi III Regis Angliae, Scotiae, Franciae & Hiberniae, XII & XIII. Printed in London in MDCCI (1701) by Charles Bill and the executrix of Thomas Newcomb, Printers to the King's Most Excellent Majesty.

The Act grants and continues a range of Crown revenue duties: taxes on low wines and spirits of first extraction, on coffee, tea, chocolate and spices, on pictures, and on various imported and manufactured goods including muslins and Japanned and lacquered wares. It also imposes duties on hawkers, pedlars, and petty chapmen, and maintains the Coinage Duty for specified periods.

Later provisions turn to succession, loyalty, and the security of the Crown, reaffirming the obligations of subjects to support the King's government, clarifying penalties for treasonous acts, and adjusting earlier statutory language concerning supporters of the late King James II. It specifies consequences for those assisting enemies of His Majesty and formalizes the replacement of obsolete succession clauses after the death of Queen Anne of Denmark, closing with standard enforcement and penalty provisions. The text may be incomplete.
