The Christmas number of L'Illustration for December 1930, issued in large format with a marbleized board cover. Sixty-five pages, measuring 15 x 11.5 inches (38 x 29 cm).

A French-language publication, profusely illustrated with color photographs surveying the arts of Middle Eastern, European, and Far Eastern cultures, including some Art Deco bindings. The printing is unusually considered: various weights of colored and textured papers, with the color images separately hand-glued and framed in gilt borders on heavy decorated stock.

The issue also carries a substantial run of period advertising from well-known brands and companies of the Art Deco years, a valuable addition to any art history library.
