Description

A 1943 Mercury (Winged Liberty) dime struck at the Philadelphia Mint, which used no mint mark. Composition is 90% silver and 10% copper. Catalogued as KM# 140.

The obverse shows Liberty in a winged Phrygian cap, the wings standing for freedom of thought, encircled by LIBERTY with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the date. The reverse carries a fasces bound with an olive branch, E·PLURIBUS·UNUM, ONE DIME, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. High-resolution images are provided so collectors may judge the coin for themselves.
