Description
A Chinese cloisonné vase worked in bronze with polychrome enamel, the body carried by a coiled dragon moving through clouds. The wirework is close and controlled, the glazed surface vivid, the register of craftsmanship the technique was built to display.
The dating given is early 20th century, circa 1900–1930, spanning the late Qing dynasty and the Republican era. The dragon (龙, lóng) is shown pursuing the flaming pearl of wisdom, an image long associated with imperial authority, good fortune, and the union of yin and yang, and one that let cloisonné artisans show their command of complex curves, flowing flames, and dense color.
The vase measures approximately 16 cm (6¼ in) in diameter and 12.5 cm (5 in) in height, and weighs about 794 g.

Condition
Very good antique condition for its age, with a rich natural patina and detail that remains clear throughout; normal surface oxidation consistent with use. The interior shows evidence of earlier use as a planter, the bottom plate was restored later, and green oxidation is visible at the base.
