Description
A torsade necklace of the mid-twentieth century, made among the Sherpa people of Nepal, twisting together forty-three strands of natural coral beads and colored glass seed beads, roughly two hundred beads to a strand, and something over nine thousand in all.
The strands gather to a bovine bone button loop clasp. The necklace measures approximately 26 inches (66 cm) and remains entirely wearable.
