Description
A well-detailed 25 centimes of 1939, struck in copper-nickel in the holed format adopted for France's minor coinage. The type is catalogued as KM# 867b, a later variant of the design introduced under the Third Republic.
The obverse carries the signature of the engraver EM LINDAUER with the initials RF within a wreath; the reverse reads 25 CMES 1939 above the republican motto ÉGALITÉ / FRATERNITÉ / LIBERTÉ. No mint mark appears, indicating the Paris mint.
